One of our volunteers is a dentist and she carried out a dental checkup for all students in the school.
The water in Arusha contains fluoride and is usually the only source of water available to our students (other than rain water).
The fluoride in the water affects the enamel on the teeth causing most of our students to have fluorosis which increases their chances of decay.
It’s advised to drink bottled water to minimise the chance of fluorosis - unfortunately our pupils cannot afford to buy.
